The United States military wanted a new fastener to replace the traditional metal carabiners it’s soldiers were using to attach gear to their webbing, chest rigs and body armour. ITW Nexus responded with the development and production of the Grimloc Locking Carabiner, constructed with GhillieTex, an IR signature reducing material.
Strong enough to carry equipment, yet smart enough to break with a soldier's weight to avoid snagging, it’s release button is textured for ease of use with gloved or wet hands. The button also works as a pump for clearing our sand or water through its drain holes. The plastic will also not become a secondary projectile or ricochet in combat.
